Who should not take DDAVP Injection?

If you have blood clots, cystic fibrosis, dehydration, fluid or electrolyte imbalances, heart failure, severe headaches or migraines, cardiovascular (heart and blood vessel) disease, high blood pressure, hyponatremia, or kidney problems DDAVP Injection (desmopressin) may not be right for you.

Older adults are more likely to have medical conditions that prevent them from taking DDAVP Injection. While hemophilia may be treated with DDAVP Injection, treatment is not advised if hemophilia A factor VIII coagulant activity levels are five percent or lower. Those who have hemophilia B or factor VIII antibodies should not take DDAVP Injection.
