What are the side effects of Increlex injections?

Allergic reactions may occur with Increlex. Seek immediate medical care if your child has any of the following symptoms:

  • hives
  • difficulty breathing
  • swelling of the face, lips or tongue

Also, seek medical care immediately if your child has:

  • blurred vision
  • severe headaches
  • seizures
  • vomiting
  • breathing problems
  • pain in the ear
  • pain in the hip or knee

Increlex side effects such as injection site redness or bruising may develop. Areas of your child's facial skin may begin to thicken. Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) is a severe side effect that may develop with Increlex injections. It is important that you are able to recognize hypoglycemia symptoms, which include:

  • confusion
  • difficulty concentrating
  • drowsiness
  • dizziness
  • headaches
  • blurred vision
  • fainting
  • hunger
  • weakness
  • irregular heartbeat
  • irritability
  • nausea seizures (convulsions)
  • sweating
  • tremors

In severe cases, low blood sugar levels can lead to seizures or coma. If any side effect seems sudden, severe, abnormal or begins to grow worse, talk to your doctor right away.
