What are the side effects of menotropins for injection?

Side effects of menotropins for injection may include headache, dizziness, diarrhea, breast tenderness, and irritation at the site of injection. Other side effects may be more serious. These include:

  • fever
  • chills
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • sudden weight gain
  • decreased amount of urination
  • trouble urinating
  • muscle weakness
  • shortness of breath
  • pain at site of injection
  • fast or irregular heartbeat
  • breathing problems
  • stomach or pelvic bloating

If you experience a serious side effect, inform your doctor immediately. Menotropins for injection may also cause an allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction are hives, difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, and swelling.
