Does an egg allergy run in families?

An egg allergy is not necessarily inherited, but family members can play a role in allergy development. If your parents have an allergy, you are more likely to have allergies. It doesn't matter whether the allergy is to eggs, another food, or something else entirely, such as hay fever. Any allergies, in one or both parents, increase the risk for the child to develop allergies.
