What injuries can benefit from heat therapy?

Heat should be used to decrease chronic pain, increase range of motion, decrease muscle spasm, decrease muscle guarding, and release trigger points. Heat also helps relax the muscles before exercise so that you do not pull your muscles during strenuous activity.
