What causes eczema in infants?

Eczema is most common in babies two to four months old and children over four years old, and can be triggered by allergic reactions to any number of things. Sometimes it takes a little sleuthing to figure out what may be the cause. (Regarding laundry detergent: Check the label carefully, as the formula may change even if the name on the box stays the same.)
