How should I eat if I have nausea or vomiting during cancer treatment?

Follow these tips when eating if you have nausea after cancer treatment:
  • Eat bland foods that are easy on your stomach (crackers, toast, yogurt). Avoid foods that are fatty, very sweet, or spicy or have strong odors.
  • Eat slowly.
  • Eat 6 small meals a day instead of 3 larger meals.
  • Don't drink liquid with meals; drink only between meals. Slowly sip liquids all day long so you don't get dehydrated.
  • Talk with your doctor about medication to control nausea.
