How Fish and Veggies Fight 5 Cancers

And fins and roots have the edge. In a study, vegetarians and fish eaters fared far better than meat eaters when it came to cancer rates for the stomach, bladder, ovaries and lymph and blood systems.

Not only did vegetarians and fish eaters have lower cancer rates, but they had lower body mass indexes compared with meat eaters, too. So if you cut back on meat, you could live longer and look better doing it. Make a promise to yourself this month that you'll eat less meat. 

Saturated Fat and Other Foibles
The study results make sense. If you're cutting out meat and eating mucho fish and veggies, you're probably getting a lot less saturated fat -- that stuff in red meat that clogs arteries and has been associated with increased cancer risk.
