What are the treatment options for pregnancy symptoms?

Getting more than the usual amount of sleep can help alleviate the fatigue associated with pregnancy. Treatment options for "morning sickness" -- nausea and vomiting -- and other digestive problems are varied, but eating small, more frequent, meals is often suggested. If vomiting becomes severe or causes dehydration or weight loss, anti-nausea medications are available. Stool softeners can be used for contipation, but laxatives should be avoided. In general, however, symptoms associated with a normal, healthy pregnancy are not treated with medications, as many of these are not safe during pregnancy.
