What are the symptoms of barotitis media?

The primary symptom of barotitis media is discomfort or pain in the ear. Slight deafness and dizziness are also possible. In extreme cases (large changes or prolonged exposure), these symptoms will become more severe. In addition, severe cases can cause tinnitus, vertigo, and bleeding from the nose or ear. Although the hearing loss can be pronounced, it is rarely permanent. These symptoms can occur in both ears or in just one.
