How are ear disorders diagnosed?

Diagnosis of ear disorders depends on the type of disorder. Doctors can often diagnose ear infections by looking at the ear canal through a special instrument called an otoscope. Patients complaining of dizziness may undergo magnetic resonance imaging to determine if there is a structural abnormality. Those with hearing loss may be diagnosed through simple hearing screening tests.
