Can acoustic neuromas turn into cancer?

It is very unlikely that acoustic neuromas will turn into cancer. All tumors have a very small probability that they could turn into something more aggressive, but it's fairly rare. However, acoustic neuromas become a perpetual problem in one’s life because they can cause hearing loss, a ringing in the ear and potential facial palsy.
