What are the side effects of eplerenone?

Side effects of eplerenone include: cough, excessive tiredness, headaches, dizziness, diarrhea, stomach pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, breast tenderness or enlargement and flu-like symptoms. Some side effects may be more serious and require you to contact your doctor immediately. These include: loss of muscle tone, tingling in arms and legs, weakness or heaviness in legs, extreme thirst, limp feeling, muscle weakness, increased urination and slow heart rate. Eplerenone also may cause an allergic reaction. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: difficulty breathing, hives, severe stomach pain and swelling of the face, tongue, lips or throat. If you experience an allergic reaction or symptoms of chest pain, cold, gray skin, irregular heartbeat or confusion, call 911 and get emergency medical attention.
