What should I avoid while taking Aldactone (spironolactone)?

While taking Aldactone (spironolactone), avoid salt substitutes that contain potassium. Your doctor may advise you to limit your intake of high-potassium foods, such as orange juice, bananas, raisins and prunes. You also may be directed to avoid drinking alcohol, as it may cause dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting if you get up too quickly. Talk to your doctor about the effects of alcohol on Aldactone.
