What are the side effects of bumetanide?

Bumetanide can cause dehydration. Make sure you are getting adequate potassium in your diet and drinking the recommended amount of fluids while on bumetanide. Other possible side effects of bumetanide include:

  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • dizziness
  • lightheadedness
  • upset stomach
  • weakness
  • thirst
  • muscle pain
  • skin irritation

Severe side effects may include:

  • extreme weight loss
  • breathing problems
  • trouble swallowing
  • abnormal bruising or bleeding
  • fever and sore throat
  • irregular heartbeat
  • peeling rash
  • hearing loss or ringing in ears
  • disorientation
  • hallucinations
  • seizure
  • lack of appetite
