What is mannitol injection in Viaflex plastic container?

Mannitol injection in Viaflex plastic container (Osmitrol) is a diuretic administered intravenously. It is used to increase urine flow to remove fluids that contribute to edema (excess swelling) in the brain, edema of the eyes and kidney failure. Use of the diuretic can help remove toxins from the body. Mannitol is a sugar that can be found in fruits and vegetables.

The Viaflex container is a patented, flexible, PVC with DEHP, non-latex plastic bag for administering intravenous drugs (including mannitol) and fluids.
