Mannitol injection in Aviva plastic container (Osmitrol) has not been studied to determine if there are drugs or foods that will interact with the medication in this specific container. However, the drug mannitol is not known to interact with food. Mannitol can increase the urinary excretion of lithium, salycylates (like aspirin and salsalate), barbiturates (like phenobabital) and potassium. Taking other diuretics at the same time as mannitol may cause excessive diuresis or urination.

The Aviva container is a patented, flexible, non-DEHP, non-PVC, non-latex plastic bag for administering intravenous drugs and fluids.
