How does vomiting cause tooth erosion?

Stomach acid dissolves the enamel on your teeth. When you vomit, stomach acid travels into your mouth and onto your teeth and causes erosion.  People who have acid reflux and eating disorders such as bulimia are vulnerable to such tooth damage.
