Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) includes the seeds, leaves and roots of the fennel plant. It is used for rectal gas and flatulence. It is available in plain seeds, sugar coated seeds, extract, oil and capsules. The adult dose is one half-teaspoon of fennel seeds chewed after eating or whenever symptoms are bothersome, or as recommended on the product label.
