Is there a vaccine against viral gastrointestinal infections?

Only one of the viruses that cause gastrointestinal infections - rotavirus - currently has an effective vaccine. That vaccine, Rotateq, was approved for use in the United States by the Food and Drug Administration in February 2006. It is an oral, or mouth-administered, vaccine given to infants in three doses at ages 2, 4, and 6 months.
