Are there alternative treatments for dyspepsia?

Although research is ongoing, there are reports that a variety of non-drug-based remedies are effective in treating dyspepsia. Herbal tea with peppermint is often recommended, as is the herbal preparation STW 5, which contains licorice and other herbs. Note that herbal remedies are not regulated, and in large doses may have harmful side effects. Psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, and other relaxation techniques can help alleviate dyspepsia symptoms brought on by stress or anxiety. The best way to treat dyspepsia without medication, however, is maintaining a healthy lifestyle focused on a nutritious diet and sufficient exercise.
