Are there alternative treatments for diverticulitis?

You will probably need antibiotics to cure your diverticulitis. But you may be able to also help yourself at home with rest and a liquid, low-fiber diet. As symptoms decrease, high-fiber foods like fruits and vegetables can slowly be reintroduced into your diet. Eating a high-fiber diet, or supplementing a low-fiber diet with a fiber supplement, may help prevent diverticulitis symptoms from becoming a problem in the first place.
