How can I cope with memory loss from a diffuse brain injury?

In many cases, a diffuse brain injury can cause memory loss. In some cases, you may lose memories of events that happened right before the injury. In other cases, you may have long-term or permanent problems retaining new information. There are ways to cope, however. Try writing down important activities and events in a daily planner when possible. Don't be afraid to ask questions of people if you've forgotten something. Breaking down complex tasks in a step by step manner may be useful. In addition, taking breaks when needed and slowing down your pace can also help.
