Does silymarin interact with other medications?

Silymarin can interact with glucuronidated medications, tamoxifen, estrogens, and medications that lower cholesterol. This supplement also can interact with the liver enzyme CYP3A4 and with many of the medications that are metabolized by the liver. Check with your doctor before taking silymarin to make sure that any medications, supplements, or herbs that you are taking will not trigger a negative interaction.
