Amino acid with electrolytes injections should not be given to children under one year of age. Other groups who should use this medication with caution and with carefully determined dosing are:
 
-  adults with high levels of blood urea nitrogen (If prescribed, regular testing is needed to monitor blood urea nitrogen levels.)
-  adults with: asthma, congestive heart failure, edema, hyperkalemia, kidney disorder or failure, liver disorder, and respiratory alkalosis
-  adults with aluminum allergies, due to increased risk of aluminum toxicity (especially in cases of kidney disorder)
