Is Juice Plus safe to take?

Juice Plus is basically a way to sneak in some of the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients, such as antioxidants and fiber, if your normal diet isn’t as balanced as it should be.  The ingredients in the capsules themselves are mostly extracts from a variety of fruits, vegetables, and grains, and some of the formulations also contain probiotics and enzymes such as bromelain, which is found naturally in pineapple.
Whether or not this is healthy for you really depends on what’s in your regular diet.  If you find it very difficult to get in the recommended amount of fruits and veggies, the supplement might be a way to get some of what you’re missing.  However, there are still substances in real food itself that have never been able to be duplicated and put into a pill.  So try to still make sure you are getting some sources of real fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein into your diet.   Supplements are often not regulated to make sure that what they say they have in them is actually there, but this company does carry a certification from an outside agency (NSF).  This doesn’t necessarily back up any health claims, but at least verifies that its ingredient list is accurate.
