How can nutritional deficiencies be prevented?

By eating balanced diet of a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats you can avoid most nutritional deficiencies. If there are certain food groups you don't eat or you're on a low calorie diet, you are more likely to develop a nutritional deficiency. A multivitamin is usually recommended as a backup to providing certain nutrients you may be lacking. Please consult your dietitian to find out if you need a vitamin supplement and which one is right for you.
