What should I know about Acthrel before receiving it?

Acthrel and the corticorelin test are performed to evaluate your condition. The test administered is known as a corticorelin test. You should be prepared by knowing about this test. In the test, five or more blood samples are taken from you at specific periods of time. Blood is drawn before and after the injection, so the test will last at least one hour. If you are taking a form of dexamethasone (such as Decadron, Dexone or Hexadrol), you should inform your doctor as these may affect your test. Acthrel is only available at the hospital or clinic.
