The hormone oxytocin, given by injection or via nasal spray, can be very effective treatment for depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Oxytocin is the trust hormone, being secreted by the pituitary gland in conjunction with close personal interactions and child birth to build that sense of closeness and bonding.
