What types of surgery can be done to treat gastroparesis?

Unfortunately, treatment for some people with severe gastroparesis will fail. If your symptoms and nutrition cannot be managed through medical therapy, your doctor may suggest surgical therapies. Surgical therapies include feeding tubes, botox injected into the pylorus, pyloroplasty (surgical division of the muscle at the end of the stomach) and gastric stimulation (gastric pacemakers).
