It's important to take good care of your feet when you have diabetes. Foot care involves checking your feet every day for cuts, sores or redness; washing your feet in warm water and drying them well; and moisturizing your feet to avoid dry skin. Choose a lotion that doesn't contain heavy perfumes or fragrances, as they can potentially be irritating to your skin. Also, try to use a lotion that doesn't contain alcohol, or at least one that lists alcohol way down on the ingredient list. Alcohol can be very drying to your skin. Finally, put lotion on the tops and bottoms of your feet, but not between your toes.
