Who should not take pimecrolimus?

If you are allergic to pimecrolimus or to any ingredient used to make the pimecrolimus preparation, you should not take this drug. Also, if you have been told that you have a condition called erythroderma, it is not a good idea to take pimecrolimus. No one should use pimecrolimus for longer than one year, because there have been reports of skin cancers and lymph node cancers linked to pimecrolimus use. Use pimecrolimus for the least amount of time needed to improve your symptoms. If you have melanoma or other types of skin cancer, avoid using pimecrolimus.
