When can I stop using Picato?

You must use every medicine for the full amount of time it is prescribed, and Picato (ingenol mebutate) is no exception. Fortunately, this gel, which is prescribed for a type of precancerous skin condition called actinic keratosis, is used for only a few days. In most cases, when the area to be treated is on the face or scalp, Picato is used for three days. If the area to be treated is on the arms, legs or torso, Picato is used for two days.
