Tell your pharmacist about any drug allergies you may have. List all medications you take, including over-the-counter medications, vitamins, dietary supplements and medicinal herbs. Be sure to mention any of the following:
  • anticoagulants (also called "blood thinners") such as warfarin (Coumadin)
  • penicillin
  • antacids containing aluminum, calcium or magnesium
  • iron supplements
  • methoxyflurane
  • oral contraceptives
  • acne medicine called isotretinoin, which should be avoided shortly before, during and shortly after using minocycline hydrochloride
  • migraine medications called ergot alkaloids
