What does Oxitriptan do?

Oxitriptan contains 5-hydroxy-tryptophan, a chemical precursor to serotonin (serotonin plays important role in mood control, and is the target of medications such as prozac and zoloft that aim to prolong its effect). It is sometimes used by patients with depression, epilepsy, Parkinsonism, migraine and sleep problems although has not been clinically proven safe or effective for any of these uses.
