Treating depression can make it easier to follow your treatment plan for a chronic illness. Depression can be eased with antidepressant medications, psychotherapy ("talk therapy"), or both. Talk to your doctor or mental health provider about the medications you take for your chronic illness and whether those may interact with an antidepressant.
