Why are implant supported overdentures used?

Implant-supported overdentures are used if you have lost your jaw teeth. These dentures are attached to an implant that is surgically inserted into your bone. After the surgical implant has healed, a snap connects the implant to the implant-supported overdenture. Unlike a regular implant with a crown or fake tooth, the implant-supported overdenture has to be removed daily and cleaned. The implant-supported overdenture must also be removed at night when you sleep.
