How common is dental bonding?

Dental bonding is the most common procedure in cosmetic dentistry. It is used by dentists to repair damaged or discolored teeth. Dental bonding is also used to fill small cavities and to reshape a misaligned tooth.
Dental bonding is extremely common. It is the procedure by which many materials adhere to the tooth. For example, tooth colored composite restorations are bonded to the teeth, and porcelain and composite indirect restorations are bonded to tooth structure. Also orthodontic brackets and some retainers may be placed with bonding methods.

Without dental bonding many of the cosmetic restorative services available today would not be possible.
