Are there different treatments for very severe cases of cyclic rosacea?

Most cases of cyclic rosacea can be helped by topical treatments and oral antibiotics. But occasionally, very severe cases of inflammatory rosacea need extra medication. For these people, doctors may prescribe isotretinoin, which is an especially strong oral treatment. Because isotretinoin is so powerful, it can also have dangerous side effects. The people who take it need to stay in close contact with their doctor. Pregnant women should never take isotretinoin.
