What are the benefits of Level I trauma centers?

If you are seriously injured, you will want to go to a trauma center that has a Level I designation from the American College of Surgeons in that state, because this means that a team of specialists will be available to take care of your injuries. A fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon will be available to take care of your orthopedic injuries. A trauma surgeon will deal with possible internal injuries, and a neurosurgeon will be available to treat head trauma.
