Is urgent care faster than the emergency room (ER)?

Treatment at an urgent care center can be faster than in the emergency room, but this depends on the time of day, the day of the week, whether it's a holiday, the location, etc. An urgent care center will typically treat patients whose condition is of lower acuity (not an emergency), which may take less time but could also be a long process, depending on the complaint.

Urgent care is usually faster than the emergency room (ER). In most cases the overall volume of people and the complexity of medical issues are much less at urgent care clinics resulting in shorter visit times.
