Will EMS treat my injury en route to the trauma center?

EMS (emergency medical services) will render first aid to injuries. Depending on the training of the personnel they can also provide basic or advanced life support measures such as oxygen, intravenous fluids, CPR, intubation. Definitive treatment is generally provided in the emergency department or hospital.

Paramedics perform only life-saving treatment so the patient can get to specialized care fast.
