What are cosmetic surgery and procedures?

Cosmetic surgery is a term that includes traditional surgical procedures such as a face-lift, but also may refer to minimally invasive treatments such laser-assisted liposuction. Cosmetic procedures include a broad spectrum of treatments, from Botox and fillers to lasers and fat-freezing treatments.

Cosmetic surgery can be either invasive or non-invasive. The non-invasive procedures include: Botox, chemical peels and injectables (Juvaderm, Radiesse, Hyaluronic Acids). The invasive surgeries include breast implants, tummy tucks, liposuction, facelifts and Rhinoplasty procedures. Only qualified board certified plastic surgeons should perform cosmetic surgical procedures under general anesthesia.
