How common are bad results after cosmetic surgery?

Arthur W. Perry, MD
Plastic Surgery
Technically difficult cosmetic procedures are more likely to have problems than simple ones. Rhinoplasty has the greatest chance of a poor result, with about 15% of patients requiring a revisionary procedure. Liposuction has a revision rate of 5-10%. Of course, skilled surgeons will have fewer poor results and poorly trained surgeons will have more bad results. Choose your surgeon wisely.
