Side effects may include headaches, dizziness, nausea, nervousness, mood swings, depression, weight increase, acne, flu-like symptoms, upper respiratory or throat infection, and abdominal or back pain. Other side effects may include breast pain, vaginitis, vaginal discharge, and pain at the insertion site. Most women have changes in bleeding patterns after getting the implant. Many have less or no bleeding, but some have heavier or more prolonged bleeding.
