What is the rate of incidence for colon cancer?

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cancer in men and women, which has remained steady over the years. However, the incidence of colorectal cancer is on the rise in the population under the age of 50. It is for this reason that people who are having symptoms should get screened independent of age.

Colon cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in the United States. It is the second highest cause of death from cancer. Approximately 153,000 people get colorectal cancer (cancer of either the colon or rectum, both located in the large intestine) each year, with just over 50,000 deaths.
