What is the AV node?

This is the atrioventricular node, part of the heart’s electrical system. It is the electrical connection between the heart’s upper chambers, or atria, and lower chambers, or ventricles. An impulse from this node causes the ventricles to contract, pushing blood into the lungs and the body.
