Should I avoid any foods while taking ciprofloxacin?

Don't take a ciprofloxacin tablet with a glass of milk, other dairy foods or any calcium-enriched product (such as juice). Large amounts of calcium can make this drug less effective. However, it's okay to take ciprofloxacin as part of a meal that includes other foods. The presence of other nutrients stops calcium from interfering with ciprofloxacin. Avoid drinking a lot of coffee, tea or other products that contain caffeine while taking ciprofloxacin.
