Is there research being done about eating disorders?

Since the cause of eating disorders is unknown, doctors and scientists are still trying to research causes in order to find better treatments. Areas that they are looking into include medical imaging, genes, and behavior. The hope is that by studying the brain and/or genes of someone with an eating disorder, they can determine how well that person will respond to a particular type of treatment.
