Is cerebral palsy life-threatening?

Cerebral palsy is an inconvenience, but the condition is not life-threatening. Cerebral palsy may cause difficulty performing tasks such as eating. If your child has trouble eating due to cerebral palsy, be sure he or she receives therapy, as a lack of nutrition could lead to more serious problems. Sometimes children with cerebral palsy also suffer seizures, which could lead to injury if not monitored. Most children with cerebral palsy have a normal life span; they just need to be careful to avoid more serious problems that could rise from complications of the condition.
